Brewing Non-Alcoholic Beer

Brewing your own beer can be a lot of fun, and it can be profitable too. But as we all know, there are plenty of people who don't like to drink alcohol. Many of these people quite enjoy the taste and smell of beer but not the effects, and it is for them that the idea of non-alcoholic beer was created. For anyone making home brewed beer, the idea of making non-alcoholic versions of it is something of a challenge – but it is possible.

The secret to making your own non-alcoholic home brew is in when you add certain things and how soon you stop the mix boiling. At the thirty minute mark of the boil, you stop it and add the hops that you would have added at that point and then ferment it normally. Before the time comes to bottle the beer, you put it back in the kettle and boil for the remaining half an hour. Once it is cooled, you then add more yeast (about half a pack) and leave it to itself. When bottling time comes, you do everything as normal.

This is one way of doing it, but there are differences of opinion. As things can go wrong at any point in the brewing process it may be worth keeping online friends updated on what you are doing – you could even make a project out of it, blogging your efforts as you go along. Those who have tried this insist that it makes very drinkable non-alcoholic beer, and as that is a hard thing to find in shops, it has to be good news.
